About the Journal

An Idea Health Journal (IHJ) is intentionally conceptual and reflects the journal’s epistemological positioning rather than a narrow biomedical focus. Idea refers to context-grounded knowledge, critical thinking, and actionable innovations that inform and improve health practice and policy.
IHJ is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that advances scholarship in Nursing, Public Health, Maternal Health, and Allied Health disciplines, with a particular focus on the Asia-Pacific region and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The journal provides a platform for:

  • Ideas derived from local health contexts, where health challenges are shaped by social, political, cultural, and economic determinants;
  • Ideas informed by cultural perspectives, recognizing that health practices and outcomes are inseparable from local values and lived experiences; and
  • Ideas translated into practical solutions, including policy-relevant insights and practice-based evidence that are often underrepresented in leading international journals.

In this sense, “An Idea for Health” signifies the journal’s commitment to transforming locally generated ideas into globally relevant health knowledge, thereby contributing to more inclusive, context-sensitive, and equitable health science. IHJ with the  e-ISSN 2797-0604
